With the description and a page image like that, it feels like an artefact of a time when he was the "girly-voiced moptop" Bieber, also known as 2010!Bieber.

Also;

Love Yourself

I admit, my view on him is now way past Bile Fascination to I Do Not Like Green Eggs and Ham due to his new album. But only time will tell...

Is it safe enough to add more tropes and revise the description now? It feels like a stub.

How is the main page locked yet the laconic one isn't? Seems like Loophole Abuse waiting to happen.

Not necessarily. This is one person's opinion, whether it's true or not. But what's really wrong with the comment is that it doesn't actually contribute anything meaningful to the discussion page.

Whats really wrong is that the OP thinks Bieber will somehow read that post here.

I propose adding the "Spiritual Successor" trope (to Michael Jackson) under the YMMV page.

The problem is, there's actually stuff that needs to be edited! "See the Super Bowl Best Buy commercial below under Self-Deprecation"? There is no entry for Self-Deprecation! I know why, but that part shouldn't even be there!

And how much material about him as a person that we don't care about has been removed.

I agree with the Self-Deprecation one. I personally don't hate Beiber as a person, but I am one of many who does not like his music or his public attitude he's been spreading ever since he got famous. However I know, that he wouldn't even guest star on that CSI episode, if he didn't like to make fun of himself all the time, nor if he didn't know he was gonna get killed off instead of arrested like most celebrity guests would in the show.

Actually, if the page were to be made it would be kept locked to prevent it becoming personal, so you'd have to ask here instead.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

I think one of the things to have (either on the main or YMMV page) is "Hype Aversion." I'm not sure how to expand upon it myself, save that the only reason I seem to dislike him is: 1) I find it funny to make fun of his name, B) He's so popular that it turns me away (I actually haven't heard any of his music), and III) I don't watch TV enough to know anything about him.

I'm sure there are other people out there who are also turned away purely by his popularity, and that's why I think Hype Aversion would be a good addition to the Bieber pages. (Almost wrote "Beaver" there. /).-)

I don't like Justin Bieber myself, but it's not like I have some sort of personal vendetta against him. I didn't even *know* about the guy, until haters brought him up on rock/metal videos on You Tube. So, if not for the haters, I could've remained being blissfully unaware of him.

Yes, YMMV page entry, but it does deserve scrutiny before it is put back up. Can't tell which sentence is more accurate.

  • Nice Guy: No matter how you feel about his music he does seem like a fairly nice kid, and does at least have a sense of humor about himself.

Is the Michael Jackson comparison supposed to be a joke? Bieber is a teenager whereas Michael was like 10 or 11 when he started in The Jackson 5 and I think Justin is a bit too old to be called a child prodigy.

Hmm... Good point. That's why I replaced "Child Prodigy" with "Teen Genius", although Justin's more talented than smart. Justin may have been older than Michael Jackson when he started, but both artists started out a lot sooner than musicians in general (you're still a child until you turn 18, and Justin's 16, so both of them started out as children), and Justin seems to be filling Michael's niche in the Pop/R&B music scene in terms of popularity (his song "Baby" has more views than any other video on Youtube. So it's not a joke (I don't joke). But still, I welcome people's opinions on the matter, and we should discuss it more before tagging him as a "Spiritual Successor".

Can we lock this page to prevent unwarranted vandalism? It's easier to revert, but wouldn't it be best to be able to screen new edits for legitimacy and prevent YMMV ones from hitting the main page, as well as make sure the editor isn't going to vandalize it?

I swear that it seems like the haters are more obsessed with him than the fans. Since his music is not my personal preference, I just choose not to listen to him and leave it at that.

However, I get tired of seeing his name get mentioned on rock/metal video. While there is the occasional troll who is (or claims to be) a Justin Bieber fan, the haters who mention him seem to be a lot more prevalent.

It's not neutral enough. Besides, you can't judge someone's character based on one deed. But if you can make it more neutral, it may be accepted.

A deed like that cannot be made neutral. Seriously. How are we gonna neutralize it?

Say: "Bieber posted up a phone number on his Twitter account and got called out for it, yet his account is still up somehow despite breaking the TOS." ?

LUNI_TUNZ Since: Apr, 2010

To be quite honest, I figured I was being pretty neutral.

I even chose Moral Dissonance because of the line in the article: "It can include pretty much any *unintentional* Double Standard on the hero's part that becomes obvious to the viewer during a walk to the fridge. It's important to point out the hero isn't acting the Jerkass, Anti Hero, or morally myopic villain, and may in fact be likable and decent, but their actions simply don't line up with their rhetoric and no one calls them on it."

And it's a pretty big thing, he done.
