"The Anti-Tank unit in Days of Ruin is similar" Is it really unintuitive though?

"Oh, here is this huge antitank gun, whose name is even literally "anti-tank", presumably loaded with anti-tank rounds that need a direct hit to deal damage as opposed to HE/cannister rounds, that even has a crew fully exposed to small arms fire, how was I supposed to guess I should attack it with infantry whom are pretty much the worst possible targets for it and can snipe the fully exposed crew with their A Rs or rockets?"

... Seriously, sounds pretty intuitive that you should attack the exact same kind of guns that are the worst possible match for grunts with... Well, grunts.

Since Rocket Jumping is being used under this trope, would games where area affecting attacks/weapons that should damage you but don't also count? Like for example a game where the rocket weapon has a large damage radius that allows it to hit multiple enemies but you don't take damage even if you shoot someone point-blank with it?

There seems to still be some confusion about this trope's definition. People are just putting anything in that doesn't make sense - for example, there's an entry that mentions characters walking across ledges that are too thin, and another about the Rocket Jump. Examples like this belong under Willing Suspension of Disbelief.

I'm going to add the clarification to the trope description - gonna need some Wiki Magic Love to comb through the examples and weed them out.

The title doesn't seem to indicate that this is a video game trope. Many articles link to this but have nothing to do with video games. Anyone think this trope needs a new title?

Okay, the discussion here seems to have died, but is there any objection to me moving type (b) examples to Press X to Die, which seems to be that trope?

Press X to Die is where the player decides to do something stupid, and the game happily lets him do that, like the Mass Effect 2 example, where you can quite deliberately and purposefully have sex with someone who kills inadvertently everyone she has sex with, and she, duh, kills you.

Sometimes it warns you, sometimes it doesn't, but they're all blatantly stupid to do and you do them.

Those examples appear to be the _opposite_ of this page, or at least what this page was originally intended for, which is where the game makes you do something insane. So we need to move those examples off, and I'll move them over to Press X to Die if no one has objections.

This trope, OTOH, is Stupidity Is the Only Option, cranked up to Beyond the Impossible.

SITOO alone is when a game railroads you into visiting your house when the police are looking for you, and getting caught because the police are watching your house. Duh, we knew that would happen, which is why we spent an hour trying to figure out what to do instead of that!

With a Violation of Common Sense, in the same situation, the thing to do is to combine bedsheets with some coat hangers, make fairy wings, and claim to be the tooth fairy to the police watching your house.

This is really a subtrope of Guide Dang It!, but because of sheer illogic instead of the other reasons for that.

With SITOO, you can easily figure the thing you're supposed to...but you quite reasonably aren't doing it, because it's obviously not going to help.

With VOCS, it's not even the 'wrong' thing you have to do...it's some utterly crazy thing that isn't even sane enough to be wrong. Sometimes caused by Did Not Do The Research, sometimes caused by programmers apparently taking acid.

Alright, first I'm rewriting the description to explain what this thing actually is, and then stuff can get slowly moved, or, more likely, deleted, as almost everything is also either on SITOO or or PXTD.
