Empathic Environment seems to be focused more on weather matching a scene's tone — i.e., wind picks up for a dramatic moment, the sky becomes overcast during a gloomy scene, Cue the Sun for a moment of revelation or hope, etcetera. Not the most indicative name, frankly.
I'd hazard that there may be a relation, but not a very close one? There's a general shared sense of "environmental conditions match some kind of theme", but there are also notable differences — temporary weather versus permanent landscape and narrative tone versus in-universe morality.
Would this also count as Empathic Environment?
