Okay, about the cut:
This isn't how it works. If you have a problem with an example, you don't put the whole page on the cutlist.
Hide / Show RepliesSeriously, WTF. Trying to delete the whole thing coz you don't like an example? What the hell!
The main problem here is: If you don't like an example, deleting probably is the correct answer. Deleting that particular paragraph, not the entire page (and, of course, "I just don't like it." itself is probably not a valid reason for deleting it. "I don't like it because it just doesn't fit.", however, is.). That'd be like deleting the whole Neon Genesis Evangelion-page just because some "good" tropes are clearly shoehorned.
This is a wiki, after all; editing entries and correcting mistakes is not only possible, but expected. Stockphrases like "You Could Always Edit It Yourself" exist for a reason.
That being said, this page does need some cleanup; see below.
This page needs help. It shouldn't be deleted (at least in my opinion; I'm pretty sure that Typical Tentacle Tactics is a valid trope, because Tentacle-Boss Battles often really are so very similar), but a cleanup would be nice.
The first sentence alone manages to really grind my gears: "All giant octopuses in videogames fight the same way." - if that's the case, then I don't understand why there're so many differences between the examples (or why we mentioned them in the first place - if they're "all the same", we'd just need to list aversions...). Not every Mary Sue has to be an example of every single Common Mary Sue Trait, not every Tentacle-Monster has to use the exact same tactics as all his predecessors did before him (I mean, if they really would be all the same, fighting these enemies wouldn't be much fun, would it?).
If someone volunteers to rewrite this page, I'd really appreciate it; if not, then I'll do it myself in a week or so.
