Fortunately, this is a case of Artistic License – Medicine and its use in 1984 itself is a case of Science Marches On, as it turns out that you quite simply cannot torture someone into believing something.

I was under the impression that most who would resort to this tactic at a basic level do not honestly care if you really believe the "party line". They just want to hear you say it.

Needs a new picture, since it specifically states that it's wrong.

Some Guy, if you're suggesting we cut some of the redirects then wouldn't it have made more sense to put them on the Cut List than the main page? I don't really see the point of cutlisting this just to say the redirects are an eyesore.

Seconded. The redirects will still be there even if this page is cut — they'll just redirect to a nonexistent page. And this is a useful page.

Yeah, probably not the best way. I would cut Rewrite The Mind because it sounds more like a redirect to Brainwashed.

Eh, how does the Cut List work technically anyway? Does it show the Cut Master a box she can press to instantly cut, or is it more like a suggestion thing?

For some reason I assumed it was the latter. I'm honestly not sure which redirects to cut here is the thing, so I felt sort of uncouth tossing all of them in there.

See you in the discussion pages.

I'm not sure how it works. But I have seen valid tropes cut because no one thought to defend them in time.

Not really related at all, but Captain America's "No, you move" quote reminds me of an old joke where a fleet of the US Navy in the Athlantic is sailing under deep fog, and sees something on the radar in front of them that is telling them on the radio to please change their course. The fleet's Admiral then starts an escalating No U exchange that ends with something like this:

-This is Admiral Ackbar aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, in charge of the 17th Athlantic Fleet of the US Navy. I order you to change your course!
-This is civillian Eleuterio Pérez on top of the lighthouse at Finisterra Cape. Do as you wish, dumbass.
