I'm wondering if it might be an idea to split the examples into "intentional remakes" and "coincidental similarities"?

How is it that BOTH Queer As Folk AND the Super Sentai/Power Rangers series are missing from this list. And the SKAM series practically made it an art form to have other county versions of the show.

I've added Queer as Folk — I agree it's weird nobody had sooner.

Power Rangers, I'm not so sure about; I feel like "show that reworks actual footage from a foreign show" should be a different trope, but I'm not sure there is one.

I don't think Star Trek and Doctor Who are equivalents. They are the best known US and UK Science Fiction TV shows of their time, but Doctor Who started in 1963 as a family/children's program, following film, TV, radio shows like Quatermass and Journey Into Space, while Star Trek (Wagon Train to the Stars!) started in 1967 following entertainment like Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers and Lost In Space. Star Trek didn't imitate or follow Doctor Who, so they aren't Transatlantic equivalents.

Might want to add a commented out note (text preceded by %%) asking not to readd them. I am personally very dubious that they qualify for this trope.

I'm perpetually baffled by the claim that Coupling is the British Friends; a claim that seems to be based on counting the number of characters of each sex, and noting the presence of a Local Hangout with a sofa.

Wouldn't the Beach Boys be a truer equivalent than the Monkees? Both of them have albums that are considered by critics to be best of the '60s and both have admitted to being inspired by each other.

(Reply deleted because I appear to have misread or misunderstood the above post. Reading it again, my reply was nonsense.)
