I'd like to add a cite of the general impression in media that anyone can lose weight through positive thinking and simple dieting, as I feel it fits in well with the "You're handicapped? Come on, anyone with any willpower can overcome that" tone, but I'm having trouble thinking of cites. There's a degree of that with Clinical Depression as well, although I don't think that's really covered in the media. ^_^ Or I could be entirely off base here as to what the trope is all about.
