Removed this as I don't think it's correct:

** It's worth noting that Agatha Christie was in fact American, although she spent most of her life outside the USA. The existence of serial killers and the idea that killing them is a right action, are culturally American ideas that are spreading thanks to Hollywood and American TV, but they sit uncomfortably elsewhere.

Agatha Christie did have an American father but she was born and raised in England, didn't have American citizenship, and as far as I can find out neither considered herself American or spent significant time there.

Yes, the above is nonsense, and insulting nonsense at that. People, whether American or not, are capable of thinking for themselves and forming their own opinions. (And sadly, there are of course serial killers in this country as well.)
