This is a nitpick, but may be worth noting in the page. I just wasn't sure enough to add it myself. Technically, seeing a work listed isn't a spoiler if you're specifically doing it to weed out works you intend not to see for medical reasons, or that you will in fact see and enjoy but your particular trauma situation requires you to know that a trope is or is not present in the work at some point.

I know a lot of people are scared of cancel culture or make the opposite mistake of reading it as momentary, temporary or at all new- or even specific to the current time. But the fact is that you've mostly got three groups of people looking at these "spoilers": assholes who don't intend to watch no matter how good/bad it is and thus physically cannot be spoiled (usually me), PTSD (mentioned above), and parents ensuring they don't *cause* PTSD in their kid (probably very rarely a spoiler, and *definitely* part of the process of curating and supporting the arts)

ETA TLDR: Throw the whole trauma thing out - imagine a person insists for political reasons that they will only buy tickets to movies about genocide, and imagine further that they just won't get satisfaction from a story about a genocide that isn't punished. Or is fictional, or isn't fictional, or that features a denier, or has a canon deity or doesn't, etc.

I have an example I’m kinda unsure of, so I’m leaving it to be reviewed here.

  • Dancing Line applies this trope in one of the game’s levels, The War. There are 2 different endings: if you follow the doves on the left, the level ends with the line’s town being rebuilt, & it reunites with it’s family. Sounds normal, or even adorable, right? Wait until you go to the right, where your character finds & launches a nuclear bomb. Various objects from the starting area get bombed, including a crib- with a baby cube still inside it. The buildings don’t get repaired & the nuke blows it up behind the line’s house. Be aware that this game was rated 4+ on the App Store.

Missing Trope Links? — Should the tropes for "Cat Scare" and "Jump Scare" be linked to from here?
