Regarding the examples about Modern and Ancient Greek, doesn't Ancient Greek (at least the Attic dialect) lack the indefinite pronouns (a/an)? And since you have to stick the properly-declined pronoun in front of every noun, can it be argued that Ancient Greek always qualifies for this trope regardless of whether or not the person being described is famous? (I could be wrong, but this is how I learned it)
I'd say that this trope name is living proof that Everything Is Not Worse with Snowclones if done right. You see, there's often confusion as to whether this should be used, even more so relative to potential examples than Spell My Name With An S. But this example shows great discretion in doing that.

Are "The Pope" and "The Dalai Lama" really examples of this trope? They are titles, and there is only one of them at a time, so it doesn't seem appropriate to me.
Where do people keep getting the Team Fortress 2 example? This is the third time I've deleted it. The characters are nameless, this is not Spell My Name with a "The", it is Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep".
Not really sure if it counts but all the antogonists in .hack//INFECTION, MUTATION, OUTBREAK and QUARANTINE ahve a name but also a title beginning with 'the'. ie. Skeith - The Terror of Death, Innus - The Mirage of Deciet, Magus - The Propogation etc. It even extends to the characters wielding the avatars in the ,hack//G.U. games. In the pking scene at the beginning of G.U. a playerkillers sees Haseo and says "The Terror of Death...It's Haseo the PKK!!"

Should La RĂ©sistance, Les Collaborateurs and El Spanish "-o" be added to the tropes folder? They all start with "The", just not in English.
