Do you guys think that Spike from My Little Pony Friendshipis Magic is an example of this trope? Since I keep messing up any attempts I have at adding to this article, I just want to double check. Just a few things:
Twilight has him sleep in a TINY bed made for a cat. While he is small, Spike does have to curl up just to fit in it.
He never goes to any form of school, even though he is a "baby" dragon (while Twilight may tutor him, we never see any evidence of that).
Twilight often hurts him (although unintentionally) with her magic (pulls him down from a ladder by magically lifting a book he was holding, burned him with teleport spell, etc.)
He also is considered not Twilight's "child," but "1# assistant," meaning he is constantly working to help Twilight, which may not be a very good way to raise a kid.
