Not Jeremy Meeks himself, but many women fawned over him purely because of his looks, despite the fact he was incarcerated for serious crimes, including weapon possession and grand theft auto. They made fan pages dedicated to him and made petitions trying to have him pardoned. Do you think the same people would behave the same to convicts who are not so attractive and happens to be innocent? Fat chance.
There was also the case of Penelope Soto, the girl that flipped off the judge in 2013. Many fan-pages was made blaming the judge for increasing Penelope's charges "because he couldn't control his temper", ignoring the fact that contempt in court is a punishable crime. It's unlikely they would have behaved the same if it was a man that flipped off the judge.

I think not. It's not him invoking the trope, and they are both speculative.

Would this be the trope for if readers/viewers of a media really like a character, even if that character's personality is horrible or they're downright evil, simply because they happen to be pretty?
