Has there been ANY word at all on whether there will be a season 2 of the series? And just to clarify, I don't mean the last 13 episodes that were aired on Cartoon Network.
I've heard from a reliable SD-fan fiction writer in contact w/ Mitch Watson, the show's producer, that they're almost done with Season 2 and that they plan on airing it in either Sept. or Oct. this year. That is, if all goes well with Cartoon Network.
For me, Professor Preicles is the big bad and Mr. E is, at least, an anti-hero. Mr. E has helped the gang solve a lot of mysteries. In episode 25, he gave Alice May orders to attack the gang in hopes of Professor Pericles to stick his neck out for them. Once the professor did, Mr. E would get rid of him for good.
Why does this page does not use the word "vow" when referring to the last line Scooby-Doo says in episode 26?
Cause Scooby didn't say that. He said "I'll get the gang back together Pericles, we'll be coming for you."
But the page does have the word "swear" among other similar words.
A possible mythology Gag in Episode 1 with the three sewer workers... if you listen to how they interact with each other... its kind of like how the T Hree stooges acted in the New Scooby Doo movies.
In the The Shrieking Madness episode, this troper is the only one that thought that all the Shout-Out to H.P Lovecraft and his fans are a BIG Take That!? First, there's the "Che" reference, and it's obvious that he parodies the "revolutionary" college students, that protest for stupid things (there's a college where I live that is FULL of these guys and are totally annoying, make protests for everything). That lend me to the conclusion that they're making a HUGE Take That! to H.P Lovecraft fans that REALLY think that the Cthulu Mythos are real as well. Damn, maybe even to Lovecraft's work in general.
Hell, the way Harlan Ellison talks about Hatecraft's work when asked the first time says it all. Add to that Hatecraft's character as well, later admiting that his work is only for money and fame (this is another Shout-Out, actually. Lovecraft admited that he created the Necronomicon and the other Grimoires, just For the Lulz), more about is that the guy is indeed called Hatecraft.
Well, later on the show had Hatecraft being brave and dare to be badass, so if it is a Take That, it seems to be a friendly one to Lovecraft.
The guy who says he's working for Mr. E (bailing out Alice May, etc.) is named Ed Machine. His first appearance is uncredited, but imdb credits Richard Mc Gonagle in all cases. In Episode 13 he is revealed to be the CEO of Destroido, the evil polluting company that puts landfill in Nature Slivers.
What is Mr. E doing working with a man like this? Or is he? We have only Ed Machine's word for it. Maybe he's feeding clues independently with an ulterior motive like getting the cursed treasure for himself. I don't think any material he has supplied the gang has an official "E" seal on it. And he delivered a message from Professor Pericles to Mr. E and the gang, so maybe he's working for Pericles now.
He's not. I can't spoil a lot but let me just say that Mr. E is NOT working with Pericles, he's working with someone else. He KNOWS Pericles very well, I'll tell you that.
When is Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. coming back to CN? I read somewhere that the season is going to resume late January? But I can't seem to find a date anywhere.
There also used to be a list that included future episodes on Wikipedia, but it has since been removed. Any ideas?
Supposedly there's some issues between CN and the producers of the shows impeding its return...no idea when it will come back, episode 14 is on iTunes though.
Is someone else already handling the Subjectives, or shall I?
Who was that voicing Professor Pericles? It *almost* sounded like Udo Kier, but I don't think it was actually him...
It is Udo Kier.
I've not seen this yet, but isn't ironic humour and Lampshade Hanging what Whats New Scooby Doo did?
Enough with the trap/crossdresser comparison. We get it, you immediately connect the word "trap" to the word "crossdresser," and you think that's hilarious. But it seems to me that you're the only one here. Let it go.
Oh THAT'S what that means...hehe, that's kind of funny actually. XD
Wait, a crossover with Batman: The Brave and the Bold? Where was that announced?
It was here:
It gets mentioned in second half of the video.
Yeah... it aired and wasn't any good.. since it was more a parody of the old school Scooby doo movies than anything to do with Myster I Nc. (and not even a GOOD parody.)
But YMMV of course.
Anyone else realize that they've so far gone 4 episodes without mentioning "Scooby Snacks," other than a one off mention in the first episode referring to gerbil pellets?
And Velma hasn't once lost her glasses.
Did anybody else think that Episode 2 (The Creeping Creatures) was a shoutout to The Shadow over Innsmouth? It reminded me a lot of the Gillman hotel sequence.
I hadn't thought of that. My weird thought was that one family member who reminded me, oddly enough, of Crispin Glover...
