What exactly is the difference between this and Voodoo Shark? It seems to me like there is a lot of overlap, which I think some clarifications could fix. Voodoo Shark seems more like it has fallen into misuse and many entries could be moved here.

It seems to me that the difference is that Voodoo Shark involves Word of God influence or that the work itself is attempting to be the writers way of fixing/answering Plot Holes, but doing so raises more questions. By contrast, this trope seems more like later reveals make earlier moments seem like Idiot Plot or other issues listed on the main page.

Voodoo Shark: A pre-existing Plot Hole or inconsistency is "corrected" by the authors, but only creates new ones.

Retroactive Idiot Ball: The story made logical sense at the time, but a later addition creates a plot hole/inconsistency.

In other words, for VS, the story never made any sense, while for RIB, the story once made sense but no longer does.

That makes sense, I'm just concerned about if perhaps Voodoo Shark needs to be trimmed and entries moved here since I think there is enough overlap to cause some confusion.
