This fits this trope less than Jukebox Musical, so I took it out:
- Many classic Hollywood musicals recycled popular songs from the studio songlists. Classic examples include An American in Paris and Singing In The Rain.
Bad name?
Just because a song was written specifically as a theme tune, that doesn't make it "not a real song". Music is music regardless of its origins, and is obviously not imaginary.
(I guess I'm just pissed off at people slighting music based on it not coming from a major band/a commercially released album/etc.).
