If the parasite infests an inanimate object rather than a living creature, does that count as this trope or something else? It's kinda like the "kill host and puppet their corpse" variant, only instead of killing anything they find a host that's either already dead or was never alive to begin with.
I swear that made perfect sense in my head. Hide / Show RepliesMight be a different trope I think.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHmm... Is Osaka's cloudcoockolandish speculation on Chiyo-chan's ponytails (that they are basically this trope) worth mentioning here?
There's no Part 1, I just thought it was funny at the time.The section on toxoplasmosis is overly long and full of bullshit, but for the most part I will leave it alone. I am, however, deleting this part:
- Some have gone so far as to argue that this effect is the true reason why cats are such popular housepets and why they were even worshiped in Egypt. The cat's symbiotic parasites rewire Human brains to think cats are adorable and want to take care of them.
Really? We need a freaking parasite to think something with big eyes, visible pupils, a small nose, a small mouth and a high-pitched voice is cute? I can totally understand if somebody doesn't like cats, but this is ridiculous. Oh, and about cats being worshipped in Ancient Egypt;

Could someone add specifics to the Rifts entry under tabletop games? It doesn't name any examples, just states that there's several.
