Pretty much all the real life examples are Zero-Context Examples. This is such a visual trope that it's hard to figure out how to give appropriate context, anyway....

The examples include at least two types without distinguishing. One type – what I think of as the porn'stache – extends to the corners of the lips and no further. Another (Jason King, BJ Hunnicutt) extends around the lips and downward, sometimes to the chin; this one may be called a Fu Manchu.
Where or how would one talk about how this style of facial hair has gotten a bit of a resurgence in The New '20s since it can be worn under a COVID mask?
