I'm hesitant to start changing this unilaterally in case I'm missing something, but I don't understand how a trope with the concept "a fanfic based on different adaptations of the same franchise" can have a "cross-media" section, since most of them are cross-media, and there's a note saying to sort by original medium. (Okay, maybe Child of the Storm since it's a crossover where one franchise was originally books, and the other was originally comics — although my instinct would be to list it under Marvel if you're talking about the Marvel elements, and maybe seperately under Literature if the same thing happens to the Potterverse elements) A couple of them (Piecing Together the Ashes and Tempest Rewrite) just look like Massive Multiplayer Crossover - maybe there's multiple versions of the same franchises combined in there, but it doesn't actually say that.

Also iFightCrimeWithVictorious looks like it's describing a Doppelgänger Crossover, and I'm not entirely sure about "Undocumented Features" as described: "X-Men comicverse, but Cyclops has elements of his animated counterpart" is this trope, as I understand it, "X-Men comicverse and X-Men animatedverse exist in seperate realities" is just how the Marvel multiverse works.

Can this trope apply to things that aren't fanfics? Like if an old book had been adapted to film several times and a recent movie was based on the book but had some elements from one of the older movies. Would that count as a Patchwork Fic?
