Disagree (partially) with listing Rick Vaughn's glasses as "nerd glasses".  While the initial pair definitely fit the trope, the black frames with the silver skull-and-crossbones on the bridgepiece that he eventually adopted (and brought back in "Major League 2") were the poster child for "Specs of Awesome"!
