Um, do you wanna keep the all-blue page quote? I think that would be fun to keep it.
Hey guys! I'm Violett, known here as Radar Guns Were Sold. Nice to meet you! (She/Her) Discord: sylvyviolettdo yall think that "a Knight's tale" counts. At the end you know "WILLLIAAAAAAAAM"
- "In The Odyssey, Odysseus just kicked the butt out of a Cyclops, Polyphemos. As he leaves he brilliantly declares "Kyklops,/if ever mortal man inquire/how you were put to shame and blinded, tell him/Odysseus, raider of cities, took your eye:/Laertes' son, whose home's on Ithaka!" He may as well have given him the precise longitude and lattitude of his house, and just thrown in his social security number, too.
- Protip: if you live in Greece's "Age of Heroes" and you're already well acquainted with several mean-tempered gods, wounding the son of Poseidon is almost as dumb as killing Inigo Montoya's dad."
Technically, wounding the Cyclops son of Poseidon Polyphemus was self-defense, since he was going to eat his prisoners otherwise. (Mileage can vary whether they should've hung around waiting for the owner of the cave to show up on an unknown island.) But when Odysseus had already given the Cyclops the name of 'Noman', and had outsmarted him and gotten his remaining men out to the ship, and was safely away from the shore, giving Polyphemus his name was realllly stupid. Particularly since the Cyclops of legend were primal warriors, older than the gods. The stories of gods appearing in less-than-powerful form to test mortals (or just for kicks) were also prevalent. Polyphemus used the name to call down Poseidon's vengeance -and Poseidon had an unpredictable temper at the best of times.
All in all, identifying himself properly was really really dumb.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettWould Dracula's Intruduction and reveal in "Van Helsing" (2004) be considered as such?
"Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Count Vladislaus Dragulia. Born: 1422. Murdered: 1462."
In fear of fucking up the usual coolness that is T Vtropes, I just wanted to drop a note that Black Star REALLY needs to be on this page, unless the sheer stupidity of his makes him unqualified for that.
Really, even after going through all the rules of assassination tactics, he jumps down on the table his target is sitting at, WITH 10 GUARDS, and proceeds to announce in a very much Large Ham'ish way, that "I am the great assassin Black Star, and I've come here to assassinate your all! YAHOOO"
Only reason it shouldn't qualify is because he actually had to flee the scene, but considering he managed to defeat the guy who curb stomped Al Pacone and his associates, he probably could have done the same as well.
