I don't think there is one, this is just an inversion. There is Mistaken for an Imposter though, where one thinks a character is someone disguised as them. Or they think it's the person using a fake name, only for it to be an Identical Stranger and that IS their real name.
Edited by MrStranger616Since it contains examples of people denying something else, shouldn't it be renamed "Most Definitely Not An X"?

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI don't even see why we have this trope about people who are obviously not villains. I mean, it's clear they aren't villains.
Wouldn't the quote be better suited for Obviously Evil, and a different quote here? It's TV Tropes not TV Quotes after all, and if we're going to have a quote shouldn't it be one where a character is actually demonstrating the trope? Wormtongue doesn't demonstrate Most Definitely Not a Villain.
Or maybe I'm overthinking this.
Would the not-a-witch TV ad qualify for this?
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."
What is the opposite of this? Like where people are suspicious of an impersonator without any reason to be?
