That line in Zero Punctuation always baffled me, because even without playing the game, the context seemed pretty clear. Enemies are charging, and the borderline sociopathic woman-child has a giant crossbow. It's not exactly rocket science.
That said, the line works quite well for a page quote.
Edited by Beacon80Didn't we completely can the old It Makes Sense in Context page for being filled with these sorts of examples? I thought that these weird sorts of examples were distinctly what we didn't want on TV Tropes
How about 'Even with Context' as the page name. (Inspired by reddit though) goo.gl/sTuwN7
Doesn't the Big-Lipped Alligator Moment page cover this already?
Hide/Show RepliesThe last I though, Big-Lipped Alligator Moment was supposed to be a sub-trope that referred to a specific moment instead of any terrible weirdness that lasted longer too.
How is there no Comic Books category for this? The Silver Age comics, and Superdickery are filled with plenty of examples of this.
For everyone that makes sense in context, there are 2 or 3 of these.
I'm surprised no one mentioned The Goon Show - the inspiration for Monty Python. Or The Goodies or Welcome to Nightvale, also mad mishmashes of nonsensical fun.
