Removed natter:

  • The creators assured fans that Twilight Sparkle wouldn't become an Alicorn in the Season 3 finale. She does, however, become a Pegasus Unicorn, which is the same thing, albeit Alicorn is just a fan name for Pegasus Unicorns. Well, it WAS, until they canonized it in an early season 3 episode, making this a bit of a Jedi Truth.
    • And then in the Season 3 finale, Rarity outright says to Twilight, "Why, you've become an alicorn!", seeming to put this trope in full effect. If you're feeling generous, then you could note the lack of a comma. Technically if they had said "No, silly pants", it would've been a flat out lie. Since they didn't...

Someone saying something and then changing their mind isn't lying. It's perfectly acceptable to change your mind after saying something, and NOT explicitly referencing that doesn't make it a lie. Lies and truth are based on perception, what is a lie one minute is true the next, with the opposite being just as valid.

This-

"It's been documented that the original intent for Star Wars was for a Flash Gordon remake. Then it became about some guy named Starkiller and something called The Book of the Whills. Han Solo originally resembled Tars Tarkas from A Princess of Mars. The first book was called Splinter of the Mind's Eye, and it was to be a novelization of the second movie, which would not have Han or Chewie, be made on a low budget and all that jazz. Reading it now, it really doesn't fit in with the story presented in ESB. This all suggests that Lucas wants to be seen as a creative genius of some sort, not just a producer like any other working within the Hollywood system and making compromises."

In addition to being poorly-written (jumping from the original movie concept to something about novelizations, for example), it doesn't give a specific example of a lie, just that the story went through many iterations. Any objections to deleting it? Or does someone understand what it's saying, and want to try re-writing? I'll give this a week before coming back to it.

The Bionicle example under "Toys" contradicts itself. Did Greg Whatshisname make the false statement attributed to him or did he not? If the latter, the example should be deleted.

Says at the top that this isn't a trope... how is this not a trope?

Check the definition of Trope: "Tropes are storytelling devices and conventions." (Emphasis added.)

Trivia entries are mostly behind-the-scenes stuff and odd facts about a work that aren't story related.

Until very recently, nobody made a big deal about the distinction, but the new policy is to have a clear dividing line between tropes and non-tropes.
