Why does it have to be "two or more characters?" Can't one person be locked in a freezer/refrigerator?

Yes, but it's not this trope. This is about the characters having interactions and development with the "locked in a freezer" part of it basically being part of the framing device, creating a Closed Circle and making them fear for their mortality.

So what would one person locked in a refrigerator be? Or do we not have that?
