Does anyone else think that T Vs in the digital era seem to take longer to turn on than CR Ts in the analogue era, specifically the 90s and early 2000s? My Dad keeps complaining about slow TV technology and I'm wondering if there is something to it. I imagine it's something to do having to locate the signal for hundreds of channels as opposed to the handful we used to have (I'm from the UK and grew up with 5 channels). Also, I saw a post on Reddit about digital signals in the UK being compressed and the TV or digital box has to take some time to decompress them. Said post is 7 years old though. Can anyone confirm the slowness of T Vs and why that might be the case?
WAH.New example. Cave Story 3D, unlike the original, has 2-3 second load screens for when you go between rooms. Minor annoyance, but this is enough to RUIN the normal ending.

It is my understanding that, after a certain point in the (pre-PSP Go) lifecycle of the hardware, that a faster disc-reading motor was implemented, resulting in the faster load times. Can anyone shed light on this?
