I thought this was where I'd find the official Trope version of "That Exotic Car's Gonna Get Wrecked." Pretty much any time an uber-expensive car makes an appearance in a comedy or action movie, it's only there to be destroyed. Exception: if the car is an essential attribute of the hero, e.g., Don Johnson's or Magnum's Ferrari. But the necessity for a new star auto in every Bond flick seems to have ensured the fiery demise of all manner of super exotic vehicles, so that's hardly a guarantee. This trope must be in the list somewhere, yes?
You've forgotten what is probably the most famous filmic structure of them all: The Bridge on the River Kwai
