A Doubt
If one type of elf falls in love with another type of elf. (Example: A High Elf and a Night elf)
Do they qualify for this trope?
Hide / Show RepliesI don’t think that's an example of interspecies romance. I think it's actually an example of interracial romance.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhat's with the 'donkagon' image? It just links to an outline of some symbol? Is it a skull? Am I missing something obvious here?
Hide / Show RepliesI think the joke is that the word, which is a portmanteau of donkey and dragon, just happens to sound like a geometric shape, like a hexagon or octagon, so the image is showing what a 'donkagon' shape would look like.
There actually is a well-verified category of real - life examples: The DNA of modern humans shows that we interbred with other hominid species like Neanderthals and Denisovans quite a lot. This happened over 30,000 years ago, but it was incredibly common. Should this be mentioned anywhere?
"Random Species Offspring"? I would think the result would be some kind of Mix-and-Match critter.
Edited by TropeMaster5Is there ever going to be a real life section? I can think of a few examples where different species of animals seemed to come together to help raise young and in general act like a mated pair.
Hide / Show RepliesNo, sadly - the trope is No Real Life Examples, Please!.

This page is being split due to length. It has reached a size where it is in danger of causing server performance issues. See this thread for details.
To alleviate this, I split off the current content along the lines of the current folder structure. New examples should be placed in the appropriate media sub-pages.
Edited by Meeble Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!Might I suggest pruning down the Web Comics section seeing as every Furry Comic in existence has at least some interspecies couplings. Like removing all but some particularly notable examples such as Kevin And Kell and putting in a link to one of the indexes.
(Checked on a couple of examples)
Hmmmm....
Hey guys, I really don’t think the romantic relationships from "Ah My Goddess", "Dragonballz", and "Elfen Lied" are examples of interspecies romance. I think they are actually examples of interracial romance.
