"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThere are male idol singers. Male idol anime are the biggest thing now.
I made this Idolized Julius Kingsley icon back when Akito first came out, and now that the crossover is actually happening, I don't care. Hide / Show RepliesArguably, The Monkees are something of an Unbuilt Trope of this.
No matter how fast light travels it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. —Terry PratchettLooking at how some of these entries are written (hello, Music section), does having singing ability instantly make this trope averted? Just because singing ability may not be the main reason an idol singer is famous, doesn't mean they cannot sing at all. Being an idol singer is more in the imagery being played up than the actual skill/talent level of the idol, isn't it?
I found this response to an entry I wrote.
- That's not quite fair to america. Pretty much all of our pop stars are created a similar way to what is done in japan. Albeit not as "YOU SHALL NOT PREFORM PAST 25!" but Americans do the same thing. And it's still going on.
I never said anything to imply the opposite. What is this adding? I just find it redundant.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you." Hide / Show RepliesYeah, I pulled it. It's natter, it's a third level indent, it's poorly written, and it's responding (not repairing).
Your entry could potentially use a rewrite to make it clear that other examples exist in America, though. You didn't imply otherwise, but it's pretty easy to interpret the fact that you don't mention it to mean it doesn't exist. So a couple words for clarity might be worth it.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I just took a shot at it.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I find the whole tone of the intro needlessly disdainful... I may rewrite it.
Hide / Show RepliesIt really is. Especially since there are plenty of idealistic portrayals of idol life.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Are all Idol Singers ruthlessly discarded necessarily?
