I need help rewriting the description to not be a case of Example as a Thesis.

I'm noticing quite a few Portal Networks listed, should we differentiate between the two somehow?

I could understand why EVE is listed seeing as every one of their gates only links to one other gate.

Well, when I came up with it, the idea was that you had to have an onboard FTL drive of some sort, rather than needing gates of some sort, but that kind of fell apart in YKTTW. However, it seems the that using a Portal Network is supposed to be instantaneous, whereas it still takes time to follow Hyperspace Lanes.

I see quite a few examples of Hyperspace Lanes that are instantaneous, such as that EVE Online example. Maybe if there are restrictions on where a given gate can go it qualifies as a Hyperspace Lane and if a gate can access any other gate in the network, it's just a Portal Network.

It's definitely a Portal Network if it can access all of the other gates. Hyperspace Lanes would instead have you, say, go through one gate to go to one place and then you'd have to take another gate for the next leg of the journey.
