I share your concern. Better watch the movie again, see what was said about Odette's inheritance.
The Swan Princess: Odette and Derek's whole betrothal is basically a double version of this, as their parents want to combine their two kingdoms.
While this definitely fits Altar Diplomacy, I don't think it fits here. Derek would have inherited his own kingdom regardless, so at least that part is not an example. And I can't remember where in the movie it said that Odette HAD to marry and couldn't rule. (Correct me if it was said.)
