Funny. I actually DID have a girlfriend in Canada (I live in Florida); We met online. Subverted from the typical usage (IRL and otherwise) in that we actually met face to face, and she was entirely who she said she was.
Would it be too much of a "not the intended use of the trope" to add a real life entry that lots of Canadian people do, in fact, have a girlfriend in Canada?
