Removed the Doctor Who example, as one love interest a year is hardly Girl of the Week, and just because he didn't tell Martha of his prior interest doesn't mean she was forgotten. It's the new Doctor after all, he pines.
Edited the Buffy example to remove the part about Giles' old flame, as she is mentioned again. And for SG-1, Jack didn't spend a hundred days with the girl; her race only live for one hundred days.
