I'm confused. Many of the examples seem to be assuming that the "Gentleman" in the trope name refers to being upper-class, but a substantial minority suggests that it refers to "gentlemanly" attitudes (and, naturally, most work for both). I suspect trope decay.

Which is it? Which examples should we edit to account for the trope's true meaning?
