I just changed the page quote from "I scare me" to "Future me scares me", in order to bring it more in line with the name of the trope. If you're going by the subtitles in the Heroes episode in question, then Hiro says "I scare me". But if you listen to what he actually says, he clearly uses the phrase "mirai no boku", meaning "future-me", so the alternate translation is valid.
FYI, the entire sentence is, "Mirai no boku nan ka kowai jan." My Japanese isn't that good, but maybe someone who speaks it better can supply a better translation.
