explains why it is an emergency weapon so it is automatically better and it is already in the wiki so no need to upload. Any objections?
First off, this is a video game trope for a fallback weapon you can use when you're out of ammo. Video game-ness aside, this isn't a fallback weapon, it's a recommended first-use weapon to use in case of an emergency, which isn't this trope at all.
Secondly, while I don't like the current, you should take it to IP if you have a suggestion.
Someone should add a bullet point under modern warfare that the developers seemingly embraced this melee-only playstyle in MW 2, adding a pistol attachment that doubles melee speed, perks that make the character run faster and give infinite fatigue and *let the player lunge about ten feet when knifing.* This supports it being listed as an Exception.
This was also averted in Shattered Horizon, a 3D zero-G shooter which intended the melee to be an Emergency Weapon. Early testers found that combined with stealth it was possible to use melee with great success; the developers were impressed by tester's ingenuity and kept it like that.
You Could Always Edit It Yourself (we require that you create a wiki handle in order to edit now, I'm afraid).

How well does it match the trope?
