Yes, it is, and I will throw that damn entry into the bowels of hell. Actually, I'm considering burning the entire real life section; the "gangsters have always been portrayed as popular" part is redundant with the description, leaving just Anonymous, and I'm not sure they even come close to qualifying.

I wonder if Black Lagoon belongs here. The Washime group arc is a pretty brutal deconstruction of the idealized picture of the Yakuza in things like Gokusen. Balalaika and Chen are certainly cool, but they are both portrayed as emotionally dead and devoting their lives to nothing except spreading misery.
