Maybe it's me but I always found that name Ironic given that Switzerland is armed to the teeth, and if anyone tries to get them violate their neutrality they are prepared to defend it with force. Seriously the reason that Switzerland is Neutral is because it CAN AFFORD TO BE SO, because it is prepared to make any invasion way more costly than it is worth. So yeah I guess it COULD be called that. But the problem with constantly comparing things to Switzerland's kind of Neutrality is that what people THINK is that Switzerland is the kind of neutrality where one is to weak and wimpy to do anything and hopes that by staying out of a conflict one won't get steamrolled. Switzerland is really the kind of neutrality that come being a combined martial arts and gun expert who live is a self-sufficient compound that can go scorched earth and ninja on any potential invader let's the world know it, and then proceeds to sit out of all conflicts because they don't want anything to with violence do to being sick and tired of it, and will ONLY defend THEMSELVES if attacked.

Exactly. This is why Hitler abandoned any plans for invading Switzerland during WW 2. In fact, General Patton asked a Swiss general what would happen if the Nazis did invade, to which the Swiss general replied: "We would all take one shot and then go home"—meaning even the German Wehrmacht would have been out-gunned. There's a lot to be said for an armed populace.

Yeah I am holding of on naming any better examples, not do to being unable to think of any, but to Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgement meets my own conscious. And let's leave it that shall we.

Could there be a Face-Neutrality Turn? Say they are too resentful of the hero to fight alongside them anymore. But they either aren't stupid or depraved enough to join the side of the villains either. So instead they just resign from the conflict.
