The following example is full of Natter, but I haven't watched the movie, so I don't know what to cut. Thus, I leave it here for someone more versed in that canon to take care of.

  • Subverted in Van Helsing: The werewolf-bitten title character is immediately suspicious when told Dracula has an antidote to lycanthropy — and there turns out to be an excellent reason for him to carry it around.
    • That said though, in the context of the film it would make more sense for him to have tons of it around easily obtainable, or just cure everyone who is bitten. Instead he keeps it in an almost unreachable place, arguably subverting the subversion.
      • Not quite. In the film, it would make a ton more sense to just have a gun filled with silver bullets. Why cure him when you could just shoot him?
      • Almost unreachable for the protagonists. Dracula can fly and all.
    • You're all failing to see the incredible level of STUPIDITY that Dracula is exhibiting here. He's not carrying around the antidote to the poison... he's carrying around the poison that is THE ONLY THING THAT CAN KILL HIM. Werewolves. He keeps them as slaves, pets, or whatever. You'd think he would just wipe them out—or better, have someone else wipe them out—and enjoy his absolute immortality.
