Not to be overly critical, but this trope is half baked at best. For one thing, while it's possible to break an arm throwing a punch, the traditional and common injury is breaking one's hand. And as the other poster points out, if you can knock out Cthulhu in one punch, you've hardly proved your own efforts are futile. Plus the point is completely confused on the page. Is this in reference to something like one drop in the ocean? There are other famous lines referring to pointless victories, or successes which are only temporary because they in no way address stopping the actual danger. I imagine one of those would express the idea better, though it's still confusing as to how breaking an arm in knocking out a big bad in someway proves a relationship to futility.

Shouldn't the trope be called "Broke your arm punching Cthulhu", considering that "punching out" implies success despite the broken arm?

I accidentally put my troper tale under WMG without thinking. I deleted it and put it under the correct page, but the WMG link is still there. How can I remove it?
