Sixteen Candles: That's not a scoliosis brace? It doesn't connect to Joan Cusack's teeth, and it appears to go underneath her top.

I feel like this page describe two different tropes. Ridiculous giant braces and association of any braces with dorks and nerds. Characters like Beth from Total Drama Island has this trope listed on them, but their braces are nowhere near horrific constructions this page describes.
