Is there a trope that describes the following situation; a person is in a battle with a group; they end up in trouble but are struggling. Their friends abandon them for falling behind and because they consider the quest more important. What would the trope for that be?

Is there a trope that describes a story in which betrayals happen repeatedly, like in Wild Things?
