  • The Silastic Armourfiends of Striterax, the most violent race in galactic history (Their army was named something even more horrific), built the supercomputer Hactar for the sole purpose of designing a bomb that would destroy the Universe. Also were indirectly responsible for the people of Krikkit launching their millennia-long genocidal galactic war. Estimated casualties: Approximately two Grillion.

OBJECTION! The Armourfiends are guilty solely of stupidity — they asked Hactar for an "Ultimate Weapon" and did not define their terms. The idea to make a bomb that destroyed the universe was wholly Hactar's. The Armourfiends' attempted use of the weapon — blowing up a single enemy installation — shows that what they wanted was simply a better tactical weapon, not something as horrific as Hactar's creation.

It can even be pointed out that the Armourfiends did not then proceed to leave the bomb (or Hactar) around to endanger later species. They believed they destroyed both, and even that failed attempt was thorough enough to cripple Hactar for EONS.

is there a reason that there are no Myths & Religion examples? Maybe I am misunderstanding the trope, so i don't wish to add something inaccurate but this seems to fit the Frost Giants of Norse Mythology, the Titans of greco-roman mythology, and no doubt others.

The only reason is because no one's put them there yet. Get crackin'.
