In plenty of Kpop songs I've looked up lyric translations the inserted English does generally makes a decent amount of sense in context (the attempt to translate the Korean are more likely to confuse me). Certainly no one was confused by what "So Hot" meant. The only Korean movie I've seen, Memento Mori, also has some decent scattered English, and apparently they know the Happy Birthday song in English there.

I think in South Korea allot of English has legitimately migrated into their common speech, thanks to the US Military presence there since the late 40s.
