I want to add on to the fridge part of explaining the Kris connection to the real world dagger, i just so happened to read this passage in my reading for a class for the next day [SPOILERS]: "A kris is an Indonesian dagger with a straight or wavy blade; it's hilt is frequently a figure carved in wood or ivory. The kris has spiritual significance and is often attributed with a soul and a life of its own. Hence it is claimed there are kris daggers that cause their owners to run amok."
- Barbara Uppenkamp, "‘Indian’ motifs in Peter Paul Rubens’s The martyrdom of Saint Thomas and The miracles of Saint Francis Xavier", Page 118.
This explicit description I so fatefully stumbled upon I think needs to be added in some capacity.
