According to the page history, this line was removed:

  • Reality Subtext: Chaplin got the idea for this film when someone noticed how The Tramp and Hitler looked alike.

No explanation is given for why it was removed. However, this line remained:

Expy: Although Chaplin, the film itself, and movie historians were and are adamant that the Jewish Barber is not the Little Tramp character Chaplin portrayed on screen between 1914 and 1936, anyone with eyes can see the obvious similarities, from the mustache to the shoes. And besides, see the entry for Reality Subtext, below.

Since the Reality Subtext example has been removed, I felt it prudent to remove the sentence referring to it.
