I have not seen this movie. But I have seen the review on youtube (by Your Movie Sucks DO Torg).
I understood that this movie was a simple horror story made up to scare and "educate" on dangers on the internet, But when I thought about it, it could have been better if it revealed to be something more:
The Amy chick, she's a 13 year old innocent girl who films her journal to no-one who'd listen, collects bears (even the bears that she isn't allowed to keep, who end up in a secret place under a bridge or something) and her best friend is a very sexually-active and outgoing person which is kidnapped… after which, Amy films her "investigations"
This things has got me thinking on the fridge-side:
What if Amy was the villain behind it all?
What if she is a sociopath that wanted to punish her friend for her promiscuity neglect so she found a guy to rape+murder her Magen…
So in the end, she keeps Megan just like she kept her doll which she was forbidden to keep. And went around filming herself trying to find what happened to Megan… to draw suspicion + have her own kidnapping videotaped.
I heard a mentioning of a goof where the Amy chick is smilinggiggling during the scene where she's raped. But maybe it's not a goof at all, because the character is trying to fake her rape and ends up corpsing.
