In name, yes, but in characteristics, not entirely. Naruto is VERY different, as are Hinata and Kurenai. And Hiashi. The list goes on.
We have character pages for other fanfics. Nobody Dies comes to mind.

Many of the fanfics with character sheets have either a large cast of new characters or have the originals twisted so much that they essentially become new characters. For example, Naruto Veangance Revelaitons not only has Sakura as going from a Tsundere kunoichi who can hold her own in battle to Ronan's completely helpless and sex-addicted girlfriend, but it has new characters, such as Ronan, Taliana, Edfred and "the council".
How about this: we make a character page when the fanfic officially moves away canon completely? By then, most of the characters should be different enough to warrant it plus it'll be interesting to compare and contrast their canon representations.
It's safe to say that canon is pretty much completely derailed already. I think it's high time we get a character sheet for this story.

- I don't know about that one. From what I've seen of genjutsu in Naruto, the effects of a genjutsu work even if the victim has acknowledged it as an illusion. Otherwise, there would be no need to develop counter-jutsu, as the genjutsu would dis-spell automatically once the victim acknowledges the effects as a lie. I get the idea that as long as part of the victim's brain sees the genjutsu's effects as illusion, the effects persist. I think Kurenai was trying to trick the part of her brain that saw "lie" into believing "truth". Thus, the genjutsu has nothing to affect, as her entire brain accepted the genjutsu's effect as truth, thus the genjutsu dis-spells passively as it has nothing to trick into believing it. In a weird way, making a genjutsu MORE believable makes sense. Too bad it was precisely what got her killed the second she broke Tsukiyomi.
It's more the fact that Itachi was caught completely off guard by her actions. Getting caught in Naruto's blast while he was observing didn't help. Once he was distracted she was able to throw it off.

Genjutsu is not cancelled when the victim realizes it is an illusion. We have never seen or heard any example of that. In fact, most genjutsu is rather obvious to the victim (like anything Itachi uses, except in his final fight with Sasuke, or Tayuya, or Kurenai).
Uh, Genjutsu isn't automatically cancelled when the victim realizes it's an illusion. It's discussed in the story that realizing that you are in an illusion is only part of cancelling, not the whole thing. The disruption part comes AFTER the realization of being stuck in an illusion, via means of harming of the victim harming themselves, suppressing their chakra flow, or create a pulse to cancel it.
Holy crap, just reading the first chapter made me come to realize a Fridge Heartwarmer (Hey, give me a break, that's the best I can describe it as)! Early on, it is revealed that Naruto only goes to Ichiraku's because not only is ramen is favorite food, but they don't run him off or make him feel uncomfortable for being the Nine Tails' host. In other words, Ichiraku is one of the few people in the village who didn't hold a grudge against Naruto and decided to treat the kid normally. Folks, I have a new favorite Naruto character.

This is actually a fairly common belief in the fandom. For example, one of the biggest things that people had to get through in Truly Wicked's "Why Orange" was the fact that no restaurant but Ichiracku's, and no grocer period, would sell food to Naruto which wasn't rotten.
The orange thing is actually one of the few thing that bothered me about this fanfic(team 8 not Why Orange, haven't read that one). I mean yeah it looks stupid and not very ninja like but the guy obviously likes it. I really dislike the explanation that naruto found it somewhere and wore it because he had nothing else. Besides with the revelation in the recent chapters orange has become a fitting color for him even if i still don't like it.
The explanation is not that Naruto found it somewhere, rather, in that part, Kurenai is trying to deduce where her student got it. The origins of the Orange Track suite where never really established in the fanfic. Also, in this story, Naruto is part of what is basically an infiltration/scouting team, where bright colors would be a big bullseye and get her student killed. Kurenai having Naruto change his attire had nothing to do with fashion, but rather with function and utility.
Is this fic on hiatus or dead or what? It hasn't been updated in almost a year.

The author's been going through a lot, from what little I understand. Really long waits for updates are expected, though this particular one is significantly longer than any I've heard of.
Why exactly is the YMMV page for this series displaying the red bullets and the list of items that should be moved to the YMMV page, and is there anything we can do about it?
Where'd all those reviews go? Were they removed for being too negative?
