I think we should discuss the Game of Thrones case. I agree that Daenerys, Jon and Tyrion are the three undisputed protagonists of the series, but I'm not so sure about Daenerys being the protagonist and Jon being the Deuteragonist considering what happens to both of them in the series finale: Daenerys dying midway through the episode while Jon is the focus of the final scene.
