I think a split is a good idea. I was about to add about 30 more entries for this page— I have been combing through the character pages for character tropes for this one and found many. Should I wait to add them or do it before the split?
^^ 30 new entries? Yep, we're splitting it. IMO, wait until the pages are separated. That way there is less to copy.
How should the recent death be entered on this page? And should it be Character Death or Killed Off for Real? Trope names are not supposed to be covered but putting the trope in the folder will be a spoiler in and of itself. The death is a huge event so it should be mentioned, but mentioning it at all is a spoiler.
Edit: I didn't realize spoiler-tags were not working. Sorry.
Edited by TeamJuniperLives Hide / Show RepliesWarning: This post contains spoilers for The Charlatan of Choice.
What about using Dies Wide Open for now and adding Character Death and/or Killed Off for Real once some time has passed? Many of Blake's shadow copies die with wide-eyes and shocked expressions before they fade and so did she so using that trope won't be inherently be a spoiler. Something like this:
- Dies Wide Open: The copies of herself that Blake creates with her Semblance often die with wide eyes and shocked expressions before they dissipate into shadows. (spoiler: Blake herself dies with a permanent wide-eyed, stunned stare.)
Edit: Spoiler the part in parenthesis.
Edited by DarthRevansNeighborI am unmarking the spoilers from The Depths of Deception. It has been more than six months since that book came out.
Should the Adaptational Villainy entry be changed considering it is less adaptational than previously thought?
Edited by TeamJuniperLives Hide / Show RepliesSince the spoiler tags are not working in discussions right now, beware of spoilers in this post!
It is difficult to say. The attitude that is given as a reason for the Downplayed Adaptational Villainy has been canonized. Ozpin acts shady, does not trust his followers at all, and keeps secrets from them, causing them to mistrust him. I would not remove the entry completely. Perhaps put a spoiler-tagged note that this was later proven to be his canon attitude? Either way, I think this should definitely be mentioned under Harsher in Hindsight under the YMMV page. Skyleaf19 predicted a lot.
Edited by DarthRevansNeighborGood idea. I will do that for now. We will have to wait and see how canon and the fanfic develop him.
I think the spoilers for The Shattered Soul should be left unmarked on the character page and I am going to un-spoiler them. Spoiler-tagging things from that book feel unnecessary and it seems to be confusing people (ie: some of the spoiler-tagged entries are from Weight of the World, not The Shattered Soul). Spoiler-tagging things from The Depths of Deception and beyond feels like a cleaner and less confusing divide between what should be spoiler-tagged and what shouldn't be.
I think it is Kirkland, if its been mentioned at all in the series. You might want to double-check for confirmation.
I'm uncertain how to categorize Ironwood and the Remnant nations, particularly since the nations' identities are spoilers. Does anyone have any ideas?
Hide / Show RepliesSince spoilers for the first book (Weight of the World) are unmarked on this page, I would put their full names in the top of their folders. For example: Vale (Amber). The sole exception is Vacuo since the identity is a very recent spoiler. I would only mention they are Vacuo in the entries. As for Ironwood, I believe Antagonists would be a good header to put him under. He did take part in kidnapping the twins plus all the recent developments with him and the Institute. I think Neo and Ciel should go under Antagonists as well, while Mantle and Vale are under Others.
So the sections will be:
The North American Twins
Teams RWBY, JNPR, and Sun
The Nations of Earth
Ozpin's Group
Antagonists
Others
Does that sound good?
Edited by EmeraldSkyThat sounds good. Thanks for the help. Creating this page is taking a lot more effort than I thought it would. There's so much to do.
Don't stress about it. There isn't a time limit to make it perfect. And you don't have to do it alone. I've been waiting for someone to make this page so I had a few entries on stand-by. I put them in.
Should the character page be split up? It's getting long and it's only going to get longer. I'm bringing this up because I noticed the Forged Destiny character page got split and I am 99% sure it was shorter than Weight of the World's character page.
Proposed split:
I also think it is time to uncover the spoilers from The Atrocities of Atlas on the character pages.
Opinions?
