No, I don't think so. They (along with Bandar-Loq) are the only villains in addition to Shere Khan. While threatening of their own right, Louie or Kaa never give the plot nearly a same level of dreadfulness as Shere Khan does.
"Ihmistä ei määritä se, mitä kaikkea hän on joutunut kärsimään, vaan se, miten hän elää taakkansa kera." Neidonpaula, Kristiina VuoriPersonally, I'm not entirely convinced that Genius Bruiser really fits Baloo. True, he's smarter than he looks, but the trope-page specifically states that a strong character who displays average intelligence doesn't qualify. And really, his plan to save Mowgli from the monkeys wasn't that elaborate. If anything, I would add Genius Bruiser to Shere Khan's character page, who, despite not really knowing Mowgli, could predict his behaviour well enough to realize the boy would come back when he learned about Akela's death. Also the way he manipulated Mowgli in throwing the torch away makes Baloo's attempts of manipulation look rather pale in comparison. The tiger did it so well that he left Mowgli no other choice than to throw that thing away (he eventually slips up when it came to Mowgli's friends in the end, but it's impressive nonetheless). He also managed to gain the trust of Raksha's pups (save for Gray) and subtly tried to turn them against her. Anyway, those are my thoughts. What do you think?
Edited by EfficaciousPantheress Hide / Show RepliesAt least I can't offer any counterargument.
"Ihmistä ei määritä se, mitä kaikkea hän on joutunut kärsimään, vaan se, miten hän elää taakkansa kera." Neidonpaula, Kristiina VuoriThis is about the Foil Part from Baloos and Shere Khans character page being removed and added to the Good/Evil counterpart section - where it has just been removed as well. Personally I agree that they're not the good/evil counterpart towards each other; just because Shere Khan is the main villain, any character paired against him doesn't immediatley become his Good Counterpart. But their view of the jungle law does contrast and thus highlight the other animals personality (if that makes any sense). So I would think it fit to add the original entry back under Foil. Thoughts?
Hide / Show RepliesI agree about those differences regarding the jungle laws' being worth a mention. Probably Foil would be the best alternative to describe it.

Would you consider King Louie and Kaa to be examples of the trope Knight of Cerebus?
